Northwest Trees & Stumps continues to actively recognise the importance of environmental protection. As far as possible, all of our work complies with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and the British Standard for Tree Work 3998 2010. Tree Felling & Tree Dismantling

Tree Felling, also known as Tree Dismantling, is the removal of trees to the ground. It can be done year-round, with the exception of when there are bat roosts or bird nests nearby.

Tree Lopping & Crown Reduction

Crown reduction, also referred to as “tree lopping,” is typically done when a tree has exceeded its space, such as to overhang services or structures, or sometimes it is done merely to lighten the crown of the tree.

Crown Thinning & Crown Lifting

For any conscientious tree owner, crown thinning is an important aspect of tree care. Usually, the purpose of crown thinning is to improve light levels below while enhancing wind permeation through the crown.

Deadwooding, Safety & Maintenance Work

Stump Grinding & Stump Removal

Tree stump removal for mulching is known as stump grinding or stump removal. Tree stumps ranging in size from 2 cm to as large as you can imagine can be ground down, leaving the surrounding environment neat and undisturbed.

Tree Pollarding & Woodland Management

Tree pollarding is a technique used to manage trees continuously at a specific height. In general, coppicing is used in woodland management.

Amazing team of lads, no issues at all - they all arrived on time, got stuck in and took everything with them when they left, they even swept up after themselves. We recently moved in December and we’re doing a garden renovation, its multiple levels and had 17 conifers along the boundary with no fence, 1st team did the chop down and 2nd team ground out all of the stumps. Price was unbeatable and there was great communication from the office, they answered all our questions. Can’t recommend enough!

Phoned Sunday morning after storm had taken down a laburnum tree which wss blocking pavement and part of road. Arrived in the afternoon and in no time at all it was chopped, chipped and all debris cleared away!

We were needing to have 2 overgrown trees removed quickly before the worst of winter weather began. Difficult site due to small entry way. Chris arranged a quote based on site assessment from photos, which meant no delay with having to arrange a site visit. They completed the job within 2 days of our accepting the quote. Arranged for removal of a 14ft thuja tree from my elderly parents (92) garden easily enough, and for a reasonable price. They turned up and did the job quickly and cleanly, with no fuss. Only downside was I'd asked for a phone call before they attended my parents address, unfortunately this didn't happen. I'll put this down to miscommunication, however no complaints about the work, which was well done and reasonably priced.

Pruning of a Japanese Acer plus reducing height on a laurel hedge and a large bamboo plant in our garden, then a big job on my next door neighbour’s which had large conifers reduced and boxed off to six foot in height plus mixed hedging along the side of his house again reduced to 6 foot plus lopping and removing a sycamore sapling. And then there was light!
A great price, job completed quickly and efficiently. Both teams were hard working, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. They removed all the branches etc quickly and left our property and our neighbours as they found it.
They were very appreciative and polite about their bacon and eggs butties on a Friday lunchtime.
Matt’s assessment of the jobs that needed doing was quick efficient and reassuring. Most impressed. We will use these services again without hesitation.

We are really happy with the work done by Northwest trees and stumps. We chose this company as out of the ones we spoke to these guys seems to very knowledgeable. They arrived on time, were very polite and courteous, and nothing was too much for them. They explained what they were doing and the reasons for it. I took one of the guys round the garden to see what else needed doing and again no questions were too many. They seemed to be very honest and really professional.

I approached this firm to deal with the possible removal of one old tree as well as the cutting back / pruning of another tree. My whole experience was that of professional, very well organized and efficient teams. Sending a video of the particular issues meant that Chris was able to confirm that the teams could deal with it, and very quickly. On the day it was like witnessing a military manoeuvre! 8am sharp the first team arrived to remove one tree and cut back the other. So efficient - I couldn't believe how quickly it all happened and with no 'damage' to the rest of the garden. This early doors team left in less than an hour and the second team turned up a few hours later - this was the 'clearing everything away' team and they really did an amazing job. And finally, in the later afternoon, the third team arrived to grind down the stump that was left from the cutting. Again, very efficient, job well done and any mess cleared away. I would definitely recommend this firm.
